Each player is randomly dealt six cards at the beginning of the game. The object is to combine and arrange the cards in a player's deck to create the highest score possible. Each deck can have as many cards as a player wishes. Those players whose decks have the highest score will be eligible for our many prizes.
There are ten different cards. Each has a name, a point value, and modifiers.
A modifier affects the player's total score. A modifier has one or more conditions which, once met, will activate the modifier. A modifier might increment or decrement a player's score. Modifier Conditions are usually activated based on which cards you have in your deck, and in which order.
Players may offer and receive cards from other players. Players are encouraged to meet with and talk to fellow conference attendees in order to arrange these transfers. Note that the game does not enforce any sort of business rules regarding trading. Any player is free to give any other player any card at any time.
A player must accept an offer before it is formally transferred. Cards that are pending acceptance will be visible to the receiving player. Cards that are "in escrow" continue to remain in the owner's card deck and will continue to affect the owner's total score. Only when the receiver accepts the offer will the card leave the owner's deck and enter the new owner's deck.
Play will start at registration time, which is 7:00am Monday Oct 5th. Each player will receive their password at registration. Each player must sign-in once to activate their account and become eligible for prizes.
Play will run until 12 noon on Oct 6th. At this time, a snapshot of the Leader Board will be created and used to determine the winners. The winners will be posted during the lunch break on Oct 6th.
There are many prizes, and the number of winners will match the number of prizes available. For example, if there are 20 prizes, the top 20 players according to the Leader Board will be chosen as winners.
Each winner must come to the prize table during the dessert break on Oct 6th to claim their prize. The first winner will get the first choice among all the prizes. The second winner will get second choice, and so on until all prizes are given away. If a winner is not present at the prize give-away, that winner forfeits their prize.
